‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Crosses $600 Million at the Domestic Box Office
After topping the box office in its sixth weekend in theaters, Deadpool & Wolverine has crossed another milestone.
The latest blockbuster from Marvel Studios has now surpassed $600 million at the domestic box office.
Already the highest-grossing R-rated film ever, Deadpool & Wolverine delivered another $15.2 million this weekend, and its total is expected to grow to $19.5 million through Labor Day.
In total, the film has now grossed $603.8 million in North America and $1.25 billion globally. It has also surpassed Iron Man 3 to become the seventh highest-grossing Marvel Studios film ever.
Disney Reigns Supreme at the Box Office
In total, only 16 films have now managed to gross $600 million at the domestic box office. Amazingly, Disney has produced 11 of those 16 films (counting the two Avatar films). If you add in Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man: No Way Home (which was produced by Sony), Disney has 12 of the 16 films.
After a difficult 2023 at the box office, this year has been a triumphant return to theaters for Disney. In addition to Deadpool & Wolverine, the studio has also released the highest-grossing film of the year (Inside Out 2) and had successful box office runs with Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes and Alien: Romulus.
With both Moana 2 and Musfasa: The Lion King still set to be released this year, Disney has the opportunity to deliver a stunning 2024. After much talk that the studio had lost its Midas touch, Disney has resoundingly silenced its detractors.
