To the Surprise of No One, The Italy Booth is Bad Again at EPCOT’s Food & Wine Festival
The time has come — it’s finally the moment to see if the Italy booth can redeem itself at the 2024 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival.
The booth has an all-new menu, so we have some hope, but let’s see if it’s worth your money and stomach space or if it is yet again a pass.
Italy
The Italy booth is located in front of the Italy pavilion, and it can get pretty popular, so watch out for long lines.
Here’s a look at the new menu! The drinks are mostly returning, but the food items are all new.
First up, we have the new Italian-style “Nachos,” which is homemade beef ragoût, pasta chips, tomato sauce, dried ricotta cheese for $9.25.
Well, Italy is off to a bad start. The pasta chips weren’t terrible — they were crispy and are good for dipping, the issue is more what you’re dipping them into.
The beef ragoût is not good. It just tastes like chopped up beef with a little bit of tomato sauce. It’s almost flavorless and it’s pretty dry.
The dried ricotta on top didn’t help it out either. We wouldn’t recommend this one.
Next, we tried the new Polpettine Toscane, which is beef meatballs, rosemary focaccia, and pomodoro sauce for $8.50.
This dish is confusing, we’re not sure what they were trying to do here. It’s so basic it’s like something you’d find on a kids’ menu.
It tastes like dry, flavorless beef meatballs that could’ve been the frozen ones you get at the grocery store. The bread and sauce on the side isn’t bad, but none of this is worth $8.50.
There is also a new Vanilla Cheesecake available here for $7.75. This is vanilla cheesecake, whipped cream, and fresh strawberry sauce.
As for drinks, you can get Prosecco for $11.50, Moscato for $12, Chianti for $11, Italian Red Sangria for $12, the new Bellini Spritz for $14, the Italian-inspired Blood Orange Margarita with tequila, triple sec, and blood orange liqueur for $12, or a Peroni Pilsner, which is $11.
We wouldn’t recommend the Italy booth unfortunately, but it doesn’t come as much of a surprise. We don’t know why they can’t figure it out over here!
Stay tuned for more from EPCOT’s Food & Wine Festival!
