Make-A-Wish Child Has a Magical Wish Inspired by Mulan
Meet ten-year-old Xuanxuan. This brave child and Disney fan is battling brainstem glioma and has one wish: to visit Shanghai Disney Resort and perform the “Ballad of Mulan.”
This moving song is an ancient folk song that children in China learn growing up. It represents power and bravery in Chinese culture and tells the story of Mulan.

Inspired by her favorite heroine, Disney and Make-A-Wish partnered together to inspire Xuanxuan and grant her a fun-filled day of unforgettable magic.
A Perfect Disney Day
Xuanxuan’s day began with a private calligraphy lesson, during which she created her own beautiful artwork on a fan.
As a gift from the VoluntEARS, she was also presented with beautiful calligraphy artwork of the “Ballad of Mulan.”

Then, she had a special meet-and-greet with Mulan. They shared stories of courage and bravery, and Xuanxuan performed her song for Mulan.

The day was just starting as the family boarded Mickey’s Storybook Express to see Mulan in full armor, enjoyed the new The Adventure of Rhythm show, and watched Mulan’s epic story unfold.
The park’s enchanting atmosphere, combined with Disney’s magical touch and the special Make-A-Wish moments, made Xuanxuan’s day truly special.
The family explored the rest of the park together, creating even more magical memories together.

We had a great time, filled with happiness. We would love to thank all the volunteers sincerely. Xuanxuan and I felt so surprisingly happy and excited from the attention we were getting.
