China Was a Bit of a Let Down at 2024 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival
Today is the day! MickeyBlog is live from the first day of the 2024 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival.
We are traveling all around the World Showcase, indulging in the delicious food and drink offerings. Our next stop? Let’s check out the tasty offerings in China.
China
This fan-favorite booth is located in the China Pavilion at the World Showcase. This year’s booth offers a great assortment of returning favorites and some new offerings.
This year’s menu once again offers Pan-fried Chicken Dumplings with house-made sweet-and-spicy sauce.
It also boasts two new items: Crispy Duck Bao Bun with hoisin sauce and Shanghai Scallion Noodles with shrimp.
Pair your favorite bites with the Baijiu Punch, Fiery Dream, Orange Mango Cocktail, or a Brew Hub Lychee Foo Draft Beer.
Or try the new beverage, the Mango Peach Bubble Tea with green tea, mango and peach syrups, and white boba.
MickeyBlog Review
Here is what we tried.
Well, what did our reporters think?
We’ll start with the Crispy Duck Bao Bun first…and, well. It was a bit of a letdown!
While the hoisin sauce itself was tasty, we found that the “crispy duck” just wasn’t crispy at all. In fact, it was a bit tough and fatty, and we suspected it could have been done a bit longer in the cooker!
Moving on to the Shanghai Scallion Noodles which, although they looked appealing, also presented a bit of a miss.
Unfortunately, both the noodles and the shrimp were chewy and bland, with little flavor to keep us satisfied.
So, to sum up, we think the China booth has been a bit of a letdown at this year’s EPCOT Food & Wine Festival.
We’ll cross our fingers in the hope that the dishes will improve as the event progresses!
