Jungle Cruise Is Now Closed For Refurbishment in Disney World — Here’s When it Could Reopen
Guests visiting Adventureland in Magic Kingdom were greeted by an unwelcomed sight this morning — a closed Jungle Crusie.
As we reported earlier this year, the classic Disney attraction officially closed today for a scheduled refurbishment.
Here is the current look at the attraction. As you can see, the walkway leading to the attraction has been roped off.
“Beginning August 26, 2024, Jungle Cruise will temporarily close for refurbishment. The attraction is scheduled to reopen for Guests before the winter holidays begin at Walt Disney World,” Disney World’s website reads.
No Major Changes Are Expected
While Disney has not announced the reasons for the Jungle Cruise refurbishment, permits were filed earlier this year for “underwater work.” Based on what we know, this seems to be just a general refurbishment, and the attraction will not see any major changes.
With Jingle Cruise set to return again to Magic Kingdom for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, it looks like Disney wants to give the opening-day attraction some extra attention before the holidays.
When Will Jungle Cruise Reopen?
At this time, Disney has not announced a re-opening date for Jungle Cruise. A look at the My Disney Experience app, however, shows that the attraction will re-open on October 18, 2024.
If the attraction were to re-open in late October, Jungle Cruise would likely join the roster of attractions open during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party before transitioning to Jingle Cruise for the Christmas parties later this year.
It is important to note, however, that the date of October 18 has not been confirmed.
