NEWS: Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs is OPEN at Disney’s BoardWalk & We’ve Got A Review!
A very exciting new food spot has opened at Disney World today! Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs has been under construction at Disney’s BoardWalk for a long time now, and we’ve been waiting eagerly to try the East Coast location of this Disneyland favorite.
And now, it’s time! Come along with us to check it out.
Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs Opens
This new snack stand is located on Disney’s BoardWalk, which I personally think fits right in with the turn-of-the-century Atlantic City theming at this resort.
The theming really stands out with the bright blues and yellows used on the exterior of the kiosk.
There’s an order window on the left side of the stand…
…and a pickup window on the right.
The menu here includes, you guessed it, corn dogs, as well as fun things like fresh-squeezed lemonade and cotton candy.
Some of the corn dogs here are more exciting than your average ones you can find in other places at Disney World. You can get things like a Pickle Dog, Mexican Street Dog, and the Golden Dragon.
We spoke to the Cast Members over here and they told us that right now they have their classic menu, but they will be bringing some more items to the stand after about a month. They mentioned adding the giant mozzarella stick and the giant jalapeño popper that we’ve seen over in Disneyland before!
Cast Members also told us that the corn dogs here are handmade and made to order! So, just be prepared to wait a little for your corn dog.
Once you place your order, you are given a buzzer and told that it will be about a 7-8 minute wait. Once it’s ready, it will light up and you can bring it to the pickup window to get your food.
The pickup window also has some extra condiments that you can grab!
The Pickle Dog is pretty iconic over in Disneyland, so you know we had to try it here at this new spot! It’s an all beef hot dog wrapped in a dill pickle, fried in cornmeal batter, rolled in panko bread crumbs and served with peanut butter and a bag of chips for $15.50.
Yep, you read that correctly — this pickle corn dog comes with a side of peanut butter to dip it in!
This is popular over in Disneyland for a reason, because it’s delicious! The corn dog is also huge, so you could probably share it with someone if you wanted to.
You can tell that it’s been freshly made and the outside is super crispy. The layer of breading matches the thickness of the pickle and hot dog inside, so everything is well balanced in terms of texture.
This is seasoned well and when you get a bite of everything at once, it’s a nice contrast of sweet, salty, and some zip from the vinegar.
The peanut butter dipping sauce probably sounds weird, but it actually works! The flavors of the corn dog mellow out the nutty flavor of the peanut butter and it tastes great together.
But, if you’re skeptical, you can always eat it without the peanut butter!
We also grabbed the Pineapple Cotton Candy for $9. This is spun fresh at the stand and also comes in a pink vanilla flavor!
So, the heat and humidity outside kind of shrunk our cotton candy, which was very odd. We’d recommend eating this right away when you get it so the same thing doesn’t happen to you!
This doesn’t have a super strong pineapple flavor to it. It’s more just like a classic cotton candy with a bit of sweet fruitiness.
It is still delicious! But, if you’re looking for something with a lot of pineapple flavor, stick to some Dole Whip.
Finally, we got a regular-sized fresh-squeezed Strawberry Lemonade for $7. They also have regular lemonade, as well as premium flavors like hibiscus agave and raspberry apricot for $1 extra.
You can tell this was freshly squeezed! It’s slightly sweet and you taste both the lemonade and the fresh strawberry flavor. We think this is perfect on a hot Florida day!
Overall, this is a great new snack option with some unique offerings as well as the classics. And, it goes perfectly with the ambiance of the BoardWalk!
If you want to try it out for yourself, Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs is open Friday through Sunday 11AM to 11PM and Monday through Thursday 11AM to 10PM.
