CommuniCore Hall Temporarily Closes Ahead of the 2024 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival

Prior to the opening of CommuniCore Hall, Disney teased that the new pavilion’s flex space would change throughout the year depending on what festival was being held at EPCOT at the time.

True to their word, the World Celebration pavilion has closed ahead of the upcoming 2024 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival, which will kick off on August 29.

At this time, it is unclear how Disney intends to integrate the flex space into EPCOT’s festivals. As CommuniCore Hall is centrally located, it could serve as a hub for each festival.

When we stopped by CommuniCore Hall today, the pavilion was closed, and Cast Members were taping over the widows. With Food & Wine set to begin in just six days, Disney probably does not have enough time to radically change anything.

They are more than likely simply getting the interior ready for whatever exhibit, seminar, or shop is coming next.

How Disney Transforms the Flex Space Could Re-Define CommuniCore Hall

When CommuniCore Hall opened in June, it was met with a tepid (at best) reaction. Throughout the creation of the new pavilion, however, Disney made an effort to remind fans that the building would hold a festival flex space.

If Disney can tie CommuniCore Hall into Food and Wine in an interesting way, it could change the prevailing view of the pavilion.

For now, however, we will have to wait and see.
