Marvel Celebrates 85 Years in New Clip That Previews ‘Ironheart,’ ‘Captain America: Brave New World,’ and ‘Thunderbolts*’
As crazy as it sounds, Marvel is officially celebrating its 85th anniversary this year!
Originally founded in 1939 as Timely Comics, the iconic comic book brand has entertained and enthralled audiences for eight and a half decades.
In celebration of this monumental achievement, Marvel has released a new sizzle that pays tribute to the past and looks forward to the future.
A Celebration of the Past and a Look Ahead
The clip begins with Stan Lee admitting that he “loves all” the Marvel characters. Kevin Feige then pays tribute to Lee, Steve Ditko, and Jack Kirby.
Moving forward to the advent of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), heroes including Iron Man, Black Panther, Spider-Man, and Hulk are shown.
Dominique Thorne as RiRi Williams/Ironheart soaring through the sky is also briefly shown. Originally introduced in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Ironheart is set to return in her own Disney+ series next year.
Marvel then teased, “We’ve only just begun,” before highlighting other upcoming projects, including Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts*. The new clip has given us, by far, the best look at the Thunderbolts, as the team is shown peering out of an elevator. Also briefly shown is Charlie Cox reprising his role as Matt Murdock in Daredevil: Born Again.
After Stan Lee utters his iconic phrase “Excelsior,” the clip ends with another preview of Captain America: Brave New World as Thunderbolt Ross transforms into Red Hulk.
