Everything Announced for Hispanic & Latin American Heritage Month at Disney World!
Disney loves to celebrate at every opportunity. There are huge months-long celebrations for things like Halloween and Christmas, as well as smaller celebrations for things like movie anniversaries.
And, it’s almost time for another celebration in Disney World!
Hispanic & Latin American Heritage Month at Disney World
The Together We Are Magia celebration will take place at Disney World from September 15th to October 15th in honor of Hispanic & Latin American Heritage Month.
Let’s see what we have to look forward to!
Baila with the Familia Madrigal
The limited-time ¡Celebración Encanto! sing-along show has been extended for the festivities! During this, you can sing and dance with the Madrigal family at CommuniCore Plaza Stage.
Check out some characters and songs from the movie, as well as Encanto trivia. The show runs several times throughout the day at EPCOT — just check your My Disney Experience for showtimes.
Mariachi Cobre
Mariachi Cobre will be performing at EPCOT on select days and times during the month-long celebration starting September 15th! It will be a limited-time experience and you might even seen a familiar face during the performance. I’m guessing maybe Miguel from Coco? We’ll have to wait and see!
Life imitates arte
The Disney Springs’ Art Walk will have a new mural addition featuring motifs live-painted by Nicole Salgar, a Miami-based artist that depicts her Latin roots in all her work. Her murals challenge viewers’ perspectives with an emphasis on experimentation thanks to her passion for sci-fi and folk art.
Over at Animal Kingdom, you can learn how to draw Dante from Coco and meet Hispanic Pixar animator Ana Ramirez at The Animation Experience at Conservation Station!
Also, you can stop by Art of Disney at EPCOT, where paintings, limited-edition prints, figurines, and more will be available. These will have Artist Spotlights highlighting work created by Hispanic or Latin American artists. Some of the artists this year include Pixar talent Gaston Ugarte, Ana Lacaze, and Luis Uribe.
¡Qué viva la música!
Of course there’s going to be some exciting music! Three iconic Latin artists as well as a Latin local Orlando band will be performing during EPCOT’s Food & Wine Festival at the America Gardens Theatre stage. Here’s the lineup:
- Luis Figueroa – Sept. 27th
- Mau Y Ricky – Sept. 28th-29th
- Jesse & Joy – Sept. 30th
- Latin Ambition – Oct. 1st-3rd
Comida for the soul
There will also be some special food you can celebrate with! EPCOT’s Food & Wine Festival will have several Hispanic and Latin dishes, but that’s not all.
The official foodie guide for the celebration will be out soon, but Disney did share a sneak peek that includes things like the Encanto Cupcake (available at Pizzafari and Restaurantosaurus in Animal Kingdom) and the Pollo Guisado (available at select locations like the End Zone Food Court at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort).
We’ll share the foodie guide as soon as it’s released!
¡Vamos Shopping!
Ready to shop? There will be some special merchandise that pays homage to Disney’s Hispanic and Latin American-inspired characters available in Disney World.
You can expect things like a new collection of items inspired by Pixar’s Coco that will be available soon!
