‘Andor’ Stars Say Season 2 Will Change How Fans See ‘Rogue One’
When Andor premiered on Disney+ in 2022, it changed the perception of what a Star Wars series could be. Forgoing the bells and whistles that came to personify the franchise’s big-budget films, Andor tells the gritty story of Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor as he transforms from thief to the Rebel hero that fans were first introduced to in Rogue One.
Almost universally lauded by critics and fans alike, Andor has been held up as the high-water mark for Star Wars storytelling. The series was nominated for eight Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Drama Series.
While fans will have to wait until 2025 for Season 2 of Andor to finally land on Disney+, Luna and his co-stars are teasing that the wait will be worth it.

Better Than Season 1?
After reading the scripts for Season 2 of Andor, Adria Arjona, who plays Bix Caleen, was amazed.
“Oh man, when I read season one, I pinched myself, and when I started reading season two, I was like, ‘[Tony Gilroy] can’t outdo [season one].’ I was again like, ‘It’s not going to be as good.’ But it’s [even] better. It’s so much better. It is,” Arjona told The Hollywood Reporter.

“What he has crafted and created is mind-blowing, and I can’t believe I got to be a part of it. He’s so talented, and he really outdid himself for season two.”

“I think people watching ‘Rogue One,’ after watching Season 2, are going to see a different film. Everything will be signified differently knowing what had to happen for K-2 to be there,” Luna told Entertainment Weekly. “It’s going to make you witness the journey of ‘Rogue One’ in a different way, I think. And not just with K-2, but with many other characters. I think it’ll be really cool.”
The second season of Andor will also re-introduce audiences to K-2SO, the Rogue One droid voiced by Alan Tudyk. According to Luna, it was a joy to work with Tudyk again.

“You’re going to see why K-2 is so important in ‘Rogue One,'” Luna said. “And how does he get to be such an important character for the Rebellion.”
Disney May Have Big Plans
Finally, when Season 2 debuts, Luna believes Disney may re-release Rogue One in theaters. It would make sense as the second season of Andor will lead directly into the film’s events.
