Almin Karamehmedovic Has Been Named President of ABC News
Following the messy tenure of Kim Godwin, ABC News has named Almin Karamehmedovic as its new president.
Perhaps best known as the executive producer of ABC’s World News Tonight, Almin Karamehmedovic is no stranger to the Disney-owned news network.
Throughout his illustrious career, Karamehmedovic has reported from more than 100 countries and won 16 Emmy Awards, nine Edward R. Murrow Awards, the DuPont Award, and a Peabody Award.
Karamehmedovic’s New Role
In his new role, Karamehmedovic will report to Debra OConnell, president of Disney news and group and networks. He will be tasked with overseeing the division’s day-to-day operations and programming.

ABC News Staff Was Surprised By the News
According to a new report from Variety, ABC News staffers were surprised by today’s announcement. Some pointed out Karamehmedovic’s lack of connection to ABC News’ biggest programs, including Good Morning America and The View.

Others, however, praised the hiring.
