Disney and Meyer Werft Celebrate A Historic New Disney Cruise Line Deal
Just two days after revealing that the Disney Cruise Line would be adding four additional ships to its fleet, Thomas Mazloum, President of the New Experiences Portfolio and Disney Signature Experiences, took to LinkedIn to announce that Disney has recently signed a new contract with the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany to build the ships.
The Disney Cruise Line has partnered with Meyer Werft since the creation of the Disney Dream in 2010. Currently, the shipyard is putting the finishing touches on the Disney Treasure (which will set sail this December) and the Disney Destiny (which will launch next year).

To celebrate the occasion, Captain Mickey made an unannounced appearance! That, however, was not the only surprise in store.
A Time to Celebrate
According to Mazloum, Meyer Werft surprised the Disney team with bells signifying each of the four ships that will be built over the next seven years.

“After each contract was signed, we rang the bell in celebration. Powerful. And you can see it on our faces – our teams are beyond excited for what is in store,” Mazloum wrote.
Before closing his update, the Disney executive made sure to thank that cast, crew and leadership of the Disney Cruise Line who have made magic happen over the last 25 years.

“Your contributions to our incredible 25-year legacy of Disney Cruising are why we can move forward with this ambitious and unprecedented expansion. This is as much your celebration as it is ours,” he closed.
Meyer Werft Says The New Disney Cruise Line Order Is Their Biggest Ever
On social media, Meyer Werft also celebrated the new deal, noting that it was the highest order value in the history of the shipyard.
The four new Disney Cruise Line ships are expected to be delivered between 2027 and 2031. The names, themes, and itineraries of the vessels, however, have yet to be revealed.
