Check Out the Imagineering Pavilion Models and Concept Art from D23
This weekend’s D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event did not disappoint. The Walt Disney Company made some major announcements and shared some pretty exciting updates.
The big news highlighted upcoming projects across its various franchises, platforms, and theme parks.
D23 fans also had the chance to visit various booths and pavilions to learn about the announcements.
MickeyBlog stopped by the Imagineering Pavilion to check out the amazing models and concept art for all of the upcoming offerings.
Coming Soon
Check out this concept art of Envisioning: Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The new image shows the updated layout of a more “lived-in” park with new attractions.

The model shows just how big the expansion will be!
Just below the art is a model displaying the Casita from Encanto.
One of the major announcements this weekend was that in 2027, Disney will re-theme DinoLand U.S.A. into Tropical Americas, an “11-acre section of the park.”
A long-rumored Casa Madrigal dark ride will be part of the expansion.
And a new Indiana Jones attraction!
Taking a look now at Disneyland, we’ve known for a while that a new Avatar attraction was coming, but we finally have concept art and details.
Disneyland’s new attraction will explore a different part of Pandora.
Fans will discover locations shown in Avatar: The Way of Water and Avatar: Fire and Ash.
From the roar of the crowd yesterday, this may be one of the biggest announcements of D23! Villains Land is coming to Magic Kingdom.
Disney shared about the new land, “For all those things hiding in the shadows, it’s time to join them as we lift the veil on a forthcoming Villains Land at Magic Kingdom Park in Walt Disney World Resort.”

The display includes art, a workstation, and a working model. We love the details of sticky notes and art supplies!
Another big surprise! A new Avatar destination was announced…
..and there will be an Avengers Campus upgrade.
Behind-the-Scenes at D23
As we continued through the pavilion, we discovered more detailed models and colorful art, like this concept art of the new Lion King attraction coming to Disney Adventure World.
Guests can follow Simba’s journey from cub to king with the first-ever attraction inspired by Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “The Lion King.”
The attraction debuts at Disney Adventure World in Paris.
Here is more great concept art! We also learned that World of Frozen will officially open in 2026.
As we continued through the exhibit, we discovered this amazing piece highlighting some of the fun coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios is getting an entire themed land based on the characters from the Monsters franchise.
Here is a great look at the long-rumored Doors Roller Coaster coming to the park.
The new Monstropolis-themed area takes place after the events of Monsters, Inc., and the best part?
Construction on the new land starts in 2025!
