Pixar’s ‘Win or Lose’ Finally Gets a Release Date and Trailer
During last night’s Disney Entertainment presentation at D23: The Ultimate Fan Event, Pixar CCO Pete Docter took to the stage to give fans a preview of what the studio has in the works.
In addition to previewing Pixar’s upcoming slate of films, including Elio, Toy Story 5, Hoppers, and Incredibles 3, Docter also has an update on Pixar’s long-awaited streaming series Win or Lose.
Originally scheduled to premiere in December 2023, Win or Lose will be Pixar’s first television series. The show will follow the story of a co-ed middle school softball team called the Pickles and the events leading up to their championship game.
Each episode will be from the perspective of a different player or parent, allowing viewers to see what the world looks like through their eyes.
“The series reveals what it actually feels like to be in the shoes of each character — the insecure kids, their helicopter parents, even a lovesick umpire — with incredibly funny, very emotional and uniquely animated perspectives,” Pixar teased.
Win or Lose Will Debut on December 6
After months of waiting, Docter announced last night that Win or Lose will finally premiere December 6 on Disney+.
Following the panel, Pixar also released the first trailer for the series.
The new clip introduces the Pickles and their well-meaning coach (Will Forte). From the looks of things, Win or Lose will feature different styles of animation, though it has a distinctly Pixar feel.
