Disney Confirms That ‘Frozen 3’ (and ‘Frozen 4’?!?) Are on the Way
During last night’s Disney Entertainment panel at D23: The Ultimate Fan event, Disney’s chief creative officer, Jennifer Lee, took the stage to preview Frozen 3.
While Disney has hinted that another Frozen sequel was on the way for months now, Lee confirmed that Frozen 3 is in development and will hit theaters in 2027.
The 66th film in the Disney animated canon, Frozen 3, will return audiences to Arendelle, where they will catch up with Queen Elsa, Queen Anna, Kristoff, Sven, and Olaf.
First Look at ‘Frozen 3’
Although Disney did not have any clips from the third Frozen film to share, Lee did reveal visual development art from the film that showed Elsa on a white horse and Anna on a brown steed.
The concept art “captures the scene of Anna and Elsa…everyone at Disney animation is excited to be back in this world,” Lee said.
Fans were obviously thrilled to hear that Frozen 3 was officially on the way. Lee wasn’t done yet.
Disney Also Teased ‘Frozen 4’
“There were a lot of questions coming out of ‘Frozen 2’…it will take two films to answer them,” Lee revealed.
Lee’s closing statement seems to confirm that Frozen 3 will be a two-part film, and Frozen 4 is also on the way. This would line up with previous comments made by Bob Iger.
With more Frozen films on the way, fans have every reason to be excited. Hopefully, we will get more details about the upcoming film as its release draws nearer.
Frozen 3 will hit theaters in 2017.
