D23 is in full swing, and so far it’s been FULL of exciting announcements about upcoming movies, exclusive merchandise, Disney entertainment, and Disney Parks experiences.

But one MAJOR announcement surprised fans tonight at the D23 Horizons: Disney Parks Experiences Showcase in Anaheim, California. And this one has EVERYTHING to do with Walt Disney himself!

Walt Disney Animatronic Coming to Disneyland
From the magical birds of the Enchanted Tiki Room to the cutting-edge new characters of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom, Disney’s animatronics have always played an important role in Disney Parks storytelling.

But when Walt imagined those very first ground-breaking animatronics, it’s hard to believe that he ever considered the possibility that one day, an audio-animatronic version of HIMSELF would one day grace the Disney Parks.
Yet, that’s EXACTLY what’s happening come 2025, when a new show entitled “Walt Disney – A Magical Life” will debut at Disneyland Park.

“Walt Disney – A Magical Life” will run inside the Main Street Opera House. The new show will feature a Walt Disney animatronic in honor of the man himself.

Josh D’Amaro took the stage for the announcement. “Creating our first Walt figure is a huge responsibility, and we’ve brought members of the Disney family along with us for every step of the journey,” he said.
“I speak for our entire team when I say there is so much pride and excitement for everyone involved in this endeavor,” he added.

The new show will allow Disney fans to come “face to face” with the man who started it all.
After its initial run, “Walt Disney – A Magical Life” will play in rotation with “Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln.”
