BREAKING: Indiana Jones, Encanto Attractions Coming to New Tropical Americas in Animal Kingdom
We have been waiting all year for this news! This year’s D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event is in full swing, with plenty to experience.
D23 is sharing some pretty big announcements today, and fans are ready! D23 just shared new details about the Tropical Americas re-theme coming to DinoLand U.S.A. in Animal Kingdom.
Tropical Americas
In 2023, we first heard that Disney was considering transforming DinoLand U.S.A. into the Tropical Americas in Animal Kingdom.
Then in March 2024, Disney filed construction permits for the area and revealed some 3D models. We knew change was coming, but no further details were released until today!
Now, we have confirmation that work will begin on Tropical Americas THIS FALL! Yep, this fall, DinoLand, U.S.A. will start to change. Disney said this will happen in stages, so we will still have the chance to ride DINOSAUR one last time (R.I.P.).
Indiana Jones and Encanto in Animal Kingdom
Tropical Americas will open up with Pueblo Esperanza. There will be a large hacienda which will be one of the largest quick-service restaurants at Walt Disney World Resort.
Disney says the 11-acre land will be lush and sprawling with a large fountain in the center where the villagers like to gather and tell stories.
A woodcarver has also created a giant working carousel featuring his favorite animals from Disney stories.
But, the best part is probably the two new signature attractions!
There will be a new Indiana Jones experience different from any other around the world. Here’s what Disney has to say about the attraction:
“In this new venture, the man with the hat has recently discovered a perfectly preserved Maya temple, and that can only mean one thing: it’s time to explore it. He’s heard rumors about a mythical creature deep within the temple — and he’s got to see it for himself. So, he brings us along on the adventure… but will there be snakes? We’ll just have to wait and see.”
The first-ever Encanto-themed ride through attraction is also coming to this land!! It will feature the Madrigal family inside the Casita — Antonio has just received his special gift, which is the ability to communicate with animals, and his room has transformed into a rainforest.
You will get to explore alongside him, and you might bump into some other family members while you’re there!
Them land is set to completely open in 2027, so we don’t have to wait *too* long! Stay tuned and follow along with MickeyBlog to stay updated on this and all things Disney.
