Chairman of Disney Experiences, Josh D’Amaro, led the Disney Experiences Showcase at the Honda Center, sharing news such as a new nighttime parade at the Magic Kingdom and an official opening date for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Disneyland. And now we’re back with even more BIG NEWS — and this time it’s about Magic Kingdom!
The new Cars-themed area will be located in a reimagined section of Frontierland at Magic Kingdom.

During the announcement of the new Frontierland at the Magic Kingdom and the upcoming Cars-themed attractions, Josh D’Amaro said during tonight’s D23 Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase panel, “The American West has always been about keeping your eyes on the horizon … believing in yourself, carving your own path, and striving toward success. That goes for miners in the mountains, bears from the country, a princess from the bayou … or a racecar from the big city.”
Once open, the Cars section will invite guests to experience not one but two all-new attractions!

The first attraction will take guests on a wild race through the mountains, which will include bumpy terrain, mountain trails, geysers, and Mater’s go-to, mudholes!
While the first new attraction will be geared toward thrill seekers, the second new one on the horizon is designed for the entire family to enjoy. More details coming soon!

Construction on the new Cars-themed area coming to Magic Kingdom will start in early 2025. An exact opening date will be revealed later on.
