Disney x Epic Games Announcements Will Be Streamed in ‘Fortnite’ This Weekend
We are just one day away from the kickoff of D23: The Ultimate Fan Event, and we here at MickeyBlog could not be more excited!
All weekend, we will be reporting live on the news, panels, and merchandise coming out of Anaheim as Disney celebrates its past, present, and future.
The crown jewel of the D23 event will be the Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase presentation on Saturday night.

Hosted by Disney Experiences chairman Josh D’Amaro, the panel is where Disney traditionally unveils its plans for Disney Parks. This year, it will also reportedly include new revelations about Disney’s partnership with Epic Games and Fortnite.
Stream New Announcements in ‘Fortnite’

Disney announced today that reveals about the Fortnite and Disney collaboration streamed in Fortnite this Saturday.

Fortnite gamers can access the announcements through the game’s new “Disney Horizons Live” island beginning at 10:30 PM ET. The stream will then start at 11:30 PM ET.
Players can join the island via the Homebar in Discover or by using the island code 7908-6413-2516.

Today’s announcement comes just months after Disney revealed that it was investing $1.5 billion in Fortnight developer Epic Games. At the time, Bob Iger revealed that a Fortnite-adjacent Disney universe was on the way that will “offer a multitude of opportunities for consumers to play, watch, shop and engage with content, characters and stories from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, ‘Star Wars,’ ‘Avatar’ and more.”
Players Will Also Get an Exclusive In-Game Item
In addition to access to the livestream, players who visit the Disney Horizons Live island for 10 minutes will also receive an exclusive Peelverine Plush Back Bling in-game item, plus XP.

According to Fortnite, the item may be available in the game’s shop later this year.
After the stream ends, the island will remain open and play the presentation on a loop. It will close on August 16.
