It is not uncommon for your favorite attractions, experiences, and resorts to experience temporary closures or construction at this time of year.

And it looks like the Wilderness Lodge is undergoing exterior refurbishment this summer.
Disney has shared that starting August 5th, the Wilderness Lodge will undergo exterior refurbishment work. During this time, guests may see or hear construction work during daytime hours.
Refurbishment update
This construction will impact some of the amenities of the resort and the surrounding area.
Horseback riding is temporarily unavailable Monday through Friday at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground due to the construction, though rides may be available on the weekends.
The best way to stay updated is to check My Disney Experience app on Friday each week to see if horseback riding is available.
