‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ Stars Battle Over Who Has the Best Costume
The Fantastic Four are set to make their long-awaited debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) next year when The Fantastic Four: First Steps hits theaters.
The new incarnation of Marvel’s First Family will consist of Pedro Pascal (Mr. Fantastic/Reed Richards), Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm/the Human Torch), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Ben Grimm/the Thing).
While much of the plot of the upcoming Fantastic Four film has remained secret, the cast has publicly discussed the family dynamic at the heart of the story.
As any Fantastic Four fan knows, the superhero team is a close-knit group. Like any family, however, the team also gets into its fair share of arguments.
Who Has the Best Costume?
In a recent interview with MTV following their Comic-Con debut, Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Joseph Quinn showed that they already have the kind of banter that their characters are known for down pat.
When asked about the costumes for the upcoming film, Moss-Bachrach quipped that he had won the lottery. As the Thing will come to life through the use of CGI, not a physical costume, the actor had things easy.
“Oh, I was very happy with my life choices. I’m wearing like, little motion-capture PJs. I have a very comfortable kit. … I won the costume thing, I think,” Moss-Bachrach explained.
Not to be overshadowed, Quinn quickly hyped up his own look.
“Yes, he looks very comfortable. I wasn’t regretting too many of my life choices. We’ve put together some pretty strong looks. I think, yeah… Yes, of course [I look good in the mirror].”
“Well, Joe’s got his top off for like, 75 percent of the movie,” Moss-Bachrach quickly quipped, sounding a lot like Ben Grimm.
Quinn had a retort ready. “Ebon wrote on that rewrite.”
The Fantastic Four Have Assembled
If the banter between Quinn and Moss-Bachrach is any indication of the familial dynamic in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, the film looks to be in good hands.
With production on the film now underway and the cast officially assembled, the team should only get closer from here.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps will hit theaters on July 25, 2025.
