New ‘Epic Mickey: Rebrushed’ Trailer Transports Fans Back to Wasteland
Fourteen years after the game initially hit shelves, Epic Mickey is set to make a comeback this September when Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is released.
The remastered version of the original game will feature more than updated graphics. According to Nintendo, the game will also have other improvements, including new skills for Mickey.
“Along with updated graphics and other improvements, Mickey Mouse’s abilities have been improved with a whole new set of skills and more. For fans of the original and new fans alike get ready for an adventure of truly epic proportions when Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed launches on Nintendo Switch this year,” the company said when the game was announced earlier this year.

Interestingly, unlike the original Epic Mickey, the new version of the game will not be Nintendo-exclusive. Epic Mickey: Rebrushed will be released on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
“A Labor of Love”
After the game was announced, Epic Mickey director Warren Spector praised the remake as a “labor of love.”

“I can’t begin to describe how excited I am that Disney Epic Mickey is coming back on Switch and other platforms,” Spector wrote.
“Everyone on the original team, as well as the Purple Lamp and THQ Nordic teams that worked on the remaster, did a great job bringing the game to life. The teams on the project were fantastic – it was obviously a real labor of love – and every team member can take pride in the fact that we created something that – like just about everything Disney – is evergreen.”

A New Trailer Has Arrived!
Ahead of the game’s September debut, publisher THQ Nordic and developer Purple Lamp Studios have released a new trailer for Epic Mickey: Rebrushed.

The brief clip transports fans back to Wasteland. It also shows off Mickey’s painting skills and features the mouse’s battle with the “it’s a small world” clock.
