Disney World and Surrounding Area Under Tornado Watch and Severe Weather Advisory
Central Florida is waking up and feeling the impacts of Tropical Storm Debby this morning. The system turned into a Category 1 hurricane overnight and made landfall in Florida with intense winds and tropical downpours.

Walt Disney World and the surrounding area are experiencing severe thunderstorms and intense wind. According to the National Weather Service, a tornado watch has been issued until 4 PM today, along with a severe weather advisory and wind advisory.
Tornado Watch
A tornado watch has been issued for most of Florida, including the following counties:
- Orange County
- Osceola County
- Flagler County
- Volusia County
- Marion County
- Lake County
- Polk County
- Seminole County
- Sumter County
- Okeechobee County
Impacts on Florida
Debby is expected to impact most of the state with intense rainfall and possibly tornado activity. The rain started on Sunday and will last until almost midweek.
However, this could change depending on the speed and intensity of the system. Here is a look at the next few days:
Many Central Florida locations are currently also under flood advisories, which are expected to expire around 8 a.m.
