The Disney Treasure Reaches Another Milestone
With all the hoopla this week about the Disney Destiny, it is easy to forget that the Disney Treasure is set to join the Disney Cruise Line fleet of ships this December.
The newest addition to Disney’s fleet has been under construction at the Meyer Werft Shipyard in Papenburg, Germany.
Over the last several months, we have given updates on the ship’s construction, previewed Jumbeaux’s Sweets, and even brought you the news about the Marvel Celebration of Heroes: Groot Remix dinner show.
Now, I am happy to report that the Disney Treasure has reached another milestone!
The Ship’s Exterior Is Complete!
Today, the Disney Treasure floated out of the Meyer Werf Shipyard building and into the shipyard dock.
As the ship made its way to its new home, a tugboat guided the ship’s stern through the shipyard’s narrow doorway. According to Disney, there were only three feet on either side of the vessel!
The Float Out is a maritime tradition that celebrates the completion of the ship’s exterior. A crowd of spectators even gathered to cheer the Treasure on.
Now that the ship’s exterior is complete, the crew just needs to put the finishing touches on the boat’s interior venues, and it will be ready to set sail for its new home in Florida.
The Disney Treasure Sets Sail This December
Aboard the Disney Treasure, guests will celebrate the spirit of adventure that inspired Walt Disney’s lifelong love of exploration.
The ship will set sail this December!
