Harrison Ford Says Portraying Red Hulk Took “Being an Idiot For Money”
Harrison Ford confirmed at San Diego Comic-Con last weekend that he will be portraying Red Hulk in the upcoming Captain America: Brave New World.
While it has long been known that Ford would play Thunderbolt Ross in the upcoming Marvel film, the actor previously played coy when asked if he would transform into Ross’ Red Hulk alter-ego.
In a recent interview with Variety, the veteran (and often surly) Hollywood star was asked what it took to transform him into the gamma-infused Red Hulk.
“What did it take? It took not caring. It took being an idiot for money, which I’ve done before,” he quipped.
Taking a more serious note, Ford explained what he meant.
“I don’t mean to disparage it,” Ford added on a more serious note. “I’m just saying you have to do certain things that normally your mother would not want you to do — or your acting coach, if you had one. But it’s fun, and I enjoyed it. I had a great time, and I’m delighted at the response that we got with the trailer.”
Ford Has Seemed Thrilled About Joining the MCU
In the leadup to the release of Captain America: Brave New World, Ford has sounded downright giddy about entering the MCU.
“These guys could all do that really well. I had the best time,” he said on stage in Hall H.
“I had seen other actors in the Marvel universe, well respected, really good actors, have a really good time, and I said, ‘I want me some of that.’ And I got some.”
Captain America: Brave New World will hit theaters on February 14, 2025.
