Gina Carano Names Pedro Pascal, Bob Chapek, and Kathleen Kennedy as Potential Witnesses in Her ‘Mandalorian’ Lawsuit
Gina Carano’s First Amendment lawsuit against The Walt Disney Company is set to continue after a judge rejected Disney’s motion to dismiss the case.
Carano is suing Disney over her 2021 firing from The Mandalorian, claiming that Disney terminated her for voicing right-wing political opinions on social media.

The actress is also accusing Disney and Lucasfilm of harassment and defamation after she refused to “conform” to the studios’ views on issues ranging from Black Lives Matter to preferred pronouns and the 2020 election.
Carano Names High-Profile Witnesses
With the trial tentatively scheduled to begin on September 25, 2025, Carano’s team has created a list of high-profile potential witnesses who could be called to testify in her case.
Pedro Pascal, Jon Favreau, Bob Chapek, Kathleen Kennedy, and Lucasfilm publicist Lynne Hale are among those named in a July 26 court document.

Television host Bear Grylls is also on the list. His inclusion likely relates to an episode of his Running Wild With Bear Grylls that featured Carano. Disney would later pull the episode after The Mandalorian star was fired.
Disney’s Double Standard?
Pascal’s inclusion is also particularly interesting, as Carano’s original suit points to her Mandalorian co-stars’ political yet left-leaning social media posts as an example of Disney’s double standard.

Specifically, Carano has pointed to Pascal’s 2017 post comparing former President Donald Trump to Hitler.
The Documents Carano’s Team Wants
The latest court filing also includes a list of documents that Carano’s legal team is requesting.
The list includes all communications between Disney and Carano, documentation surrounding the canceled Rangers of the New Republic series that Carano was set to star in, and social media posts by Pascal and Mark Hamill. Interestingly, it also calls for documentation and communications relating to Disney’s social media policies and diversity, equity, and inclusion programs and policies.
After Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett rejected Disney’s motion to dismiss the case, it looks like we are now in for a drawn-out battle.

Beyond the specifics of Carano’s termination, it looks like we will now also get information about Disney’s corporate policies. More to come.
