Peter Pan and Captain Hook Have Officially Been Installed on the Disney Treasure
If you have been reading along here at MickeyBlog, then you know that we are eagerly awaiting the launch of the Disney Treasure this December.
The latest addition to the Disney Cruise Line, the Treasure, has been under construction at the Meyer Werft Shipyard in Papenburg, Germany.
Over the last couple of months, we have seen the ship reach a series of milestones, gotten a glimpse at Jumbeaux’s Sweets, and brought you news about the new Marvel Celebration of Heroes: Groot Remix dinner show.

Well, I am happy to report that the Disney Treasure has moved one step closer to completion, as Peter Pan and Captain Hook have finally made their way onto the ship’s stern!
Another Milestone For the Disney Treasure
For those who don’t remember, when Disney first unveiled the Disney Treasure last year, they released an artist rendering of the vessel’s stern. At the time, it was revealed that Captain Hook and Peter Pan figures would be featured on the boat’s exterior.

Nearly a year later, the new figures have officially been installed!
Dedicated artisans built the Peter Pan and Captain Hook sculptures in California. The figures were then shipped to the Meyer Werft Shipyard, where they were lifted with cranes and bolted to the ship’s stern.

While it is a little hard to tell in the photos, both figures are HUGE. In fact, Peter Pan is over 9 feet tall and wears a size 36.5 shoe!
According to Disney, the new figures were chosen to compliment “Disney Treasure’s theme of adventure and add a touch of Disney magic to the classically designed exterior of the ship.”

If you ask me, they look great!
