Disneyland Workers Reach Tentative Agreement Avoiding Strike
Fourteen thousand employees and Cast Members of Disneyland Resort were set to strike, marking the potential disruption for Disneyland Resort for the first time in 40 years.

In a huge development for Disneyland employees, a tentative contract agreement has been reached, averting the immediate possibility of a strike.
Latest Development for Disneyland
The employees, including ride operators, custodians, merchandise clerks, and others, are part of the Master Services Council and work at Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, Downtown Disney, and Disney hotels.

Earlier this week, employees voted to authorize a strike if a contract agreement was not reached. The urgency of these negotiations was largely driven by the expiration of the contract for Disneyland cast members on June 16th, 2024. In addition, the contract for Disney California Adventure and Downtown Disney cast members expires on September 30th, 2024.
After two additional days of negotiating this week, a tentative agreement was reached. The new agreement relieved the many employees who had been preparing for a potential strike.
“We are proud to announce we have reached a tentative agreement with Disney that we will recommend to our fellow cast members. Cast members have fought hard for the past four months, and this tentative agreement would not have been possible without the strength we all showed throughout this process and the unwavering support from guests and community members,” the Disney Workers Rising Bargaining Committee shared today.
What’s Next?
Members are scheduled to vote on the new contract on July 29th, 2024. The agreement’s details will be made public after the voting session.
