NEW Store Pops Up at Magic Kingdom Overnight
There is almost constant construction happening in Disney World. It can be a little project, like a small snack stand, or a big one, like an updated attraction.
We keep up with all of the construction so we can let you know what’s going on. And today, we noticed some big changes over in Magic Kingdom!
Tortuga Tavern Changed
Tortuga Tavern has been changed into Tortuga Treasures over in Adventureland.
Previously, Tortuga Tavern was a quick-service food spot that was open seasonally.
Here, you can see the old menu boards.
But now, it’s operating as a makeshift gift shop.
As you can see, you can get souvenirs related to Adventureland and Pirates of the Caribbean here.
This definitely just looks temporary, but we’ll have to wait and see.
We’ll let you know if we see any changes!
More Adventureland Construction
We also noticed a bunch of other construction happening in this area of Adventureland.
The construction at Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar has now expanded to cover the old Pirates League area.
As soon as you exit Pirates of the Caribbean, you will see construction walls.
And, all of the merchandise shelving that used to be on the side is now covered in scrim.
We’re assuming that some of this merchandise has been moved across the street to the new Tortuga Treasures.
You can see where the registers used to be in several places, like here…
…and here.
All of the phone booths have been removed from this area as well.
Here’s another look.
And, the pirate bird is gone from under the stairs over here!
Finally, Jack Sparrow was meeting next to Tortuga Treasures. He usually meets next to the Adventureland restrooms around the Pirates of the Caribbean gift shop.
