REVIEW: Why Woody’s Lunch Box is a Staple in Disney World
Here at MickeyBlog, we like to set you up for success on your Disney World vacation. That’s why it’s important to know where to get the best food while you’re in the parks! You don’t want to waste your money and stomach space on bad food, right?
So, we’re here to tell you all about the good, the bad, and the meh of every restaurant in Disney World. And today, we’re talking about Woody’s Lunch Box in Hollywood Studios!
Woody’s Lunch Box
Woody’s Lunch Box is located in Toy Story Land across from Slinky Dog Dash. This is a quick-service restaurant, which means you order up at the front, grab your food, and then find a table to dine at.
This is the only quick-service food option over in Toy Story Land, so if you don’t have a reservation for Roundup Rodeo BBQ, this is the only other place to eat.
The restaurant is a popular one, so be prepared to wait in line for a minute to order, and you might have some difficulty finding an open table. If it’s really busy, I’d recommend mobile ordering through your My Disney Experience app ahead of time so you don’t have to wait in line to order and can just grab your food when it’s ready!
Seating & Atmosphere
Woody’s Lunch Box is all outside — there is no form of indoor seating. This can get super hot during the summer, but there are umbrellas at some of the tables that provide a bit of relief from the sun.
The restaurant is made to fit in with the land, which means you’re supposed to feel like you’ve been shrunk down to the size of a toy, and this spot reflects that! The area where you order and pick up your food is actually a giant lunch box.
You’ll see giant celery and carrot sticks, a big Babybel cheese, and some animal crackers. The menu is even written on the side of a juice box!
As for the tables and chairs, there are a few that actually have giant wedges of Babybel cheese that you can sit on.
The rest are just made of colorful, hard plastic. There are also some high top tables without chairs if you want to stand and eat.
Menu
Let’s take a look at the menu! Despite its name, Woody’s Lunch Box actually serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner — breakfast is usually served until around 10:30, then lunch is served from 10:45AM to park close.
On the breakfast menu, you’ll find a Breakfast Bowl and a Kids’ Breakfast Bowl.

Now, let’s try some food!
Food
Breakfast
We started out with one of the breakfast offerings — the Breakfast Bowl! This has a hearty portion of potato barrels smothered in smoked brisket country gravy, scrambled eggs, and a sprinkling of green onions for $8.79.
This is a really big portion of food, so it’s definitely a good item to share if you want! Or, keep it all to yourself, live your best life.
If you aren’t sharing but still think this is too big of a portion, you can always get the kids version which is smaller. It’s $5.99 and comes with 2 sides and a drink.
There is a nice amount of gravy on these tots, and it’s thick and flavorful, but definitely on the heavier side of things. This isn’t a light, easy-breezy breakfast!
The eggs are pretty light and fluffy though, and they’re cooked well. The green onions also add a nice freshness!
The potato barrels (tater tots) unfortunately aren’t very crispy and they kind of crumbled and got mushy toward the end bottom of the bowl. They were more like hash browns down there.
They still tasted good, we just prefer the fried, crispy tots. These are baked. Overall, the Breakfast Bowl is very tasty but it is on the heavier side. This could be good or bad, depending on if you want a big breakfast or not.
Lunch/Dinner
Grilled Cheese & Tomato Soup
Now for the lunch/dinner items! We got the Grilled Three-Cheese Sandwich which has melted provolone, cheddar, and American cheese on grilled sourdough bread for $10.29. We also got it with a side of tomato-basil soup.
The sandwich is absolutely delicious and Disney does not skimp on the cheese here!
The bread is toasted and super buttery and you get that glorious melty cheese in every bite. They use a sort of cheese spread in this grilled cheese which kicks the flavors and textures up a notch. There’s also some nice garlic flavor!
This usually comes with a side of potato barrels, but we opted for the tomato-basil soup so we could dip our sandwich!
Is getting hot soup when it feels like 100 degrees outside in Disney World a bad idea? Maybe, but the flavors here are just too good to pass up.
The soup is great to dip your sandwich into for that classic grilled cheese and tomato soup flavor. It has a great basil flavor and isn’t overly thick.
The meal is super tasty and pretty filling for one person!
Dessert/Snack
For dessert, we got the Raspberry Lunch Box Tart, which is a raspberry marmalade stuffed pastry coated in a strawberry fondant and crispy pearls for $4.79.
This raspberry tart is usually available on the menu all year, and it’s consistently pretty good! Seasonal flavors in the past have included sweet potato, lemon blueberry, banana chocolate, and more.
But, the raspberry is a tried and true favorite. These are kind of like Disney’s version of a Pop-Tart, just more on the homemade side of things.
The crust is buttery and there’s a small amount of filling on the inside. These are good, but we really do wish there was more filling in the middle!
The icing on top has a bit of a crunch to it and there’s some freeze-dried raspberry pieces and white chocolate crisp peals on top to add some more texture.
This tart is a great little snack to share or a good dessert to split! It’s also not bad to take on the go and eat for a light breakfast while you wait in line for a ride in the morning.
Overall, Woody’s Lunch Box has some tasty classics that can be relied upon to be good almost every time you visit. The seating be all outside is less than ideal, but hey, if we have to sit outside in the heat for a little bit to get that grilled cheese, we’ll make the sacrifice!
