Global Technology Outage Grounds Flights
Anyone traveling today may be facing some unfortunate issues caused by a global technology outage.
As technology seems to run our lives lately, a disruption in the services we use daily can be a monumental problem. Whether you’re traveling today or just trying to buy groceries, you may experience some issues until the outage is resolved.
Global Technology Outage
Early this morning, many airline carriers grounded flights due to a technology issue, causing flight delays and cancelations. Orlando International Airport encouraged travelers to contact their airlines directly.

As reported by the Associated Press, this global technology outage has affected more than just airlines, including banks, media outlets, and more.
Cybersecurity firm Crowdstrike is believed to be the main source of the outage. The firm has blamed a “faulty update to computers running Microsoft Windows,” and they said a fix is coming soon.
Crowdstrike has stated that this outage was not caused by a cyberattack or a security incident.
When it comes to Disney World, we’re in the parks this morning and are still able to use services such as Mobile Order and Mobile Checkout, and we also saw people purchasing items just fine in stores.
Starbucks was also up and running as per usual.
Perhaps unrelated, however, is that several Disney World rides were closed this morning, including Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Haunted Mansion, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
As of 9:45AM, only Tiana’s Bayou Adventure remains closed.
We’ll be watching this developing situation closely.
