‘Inside Out 2’ Is One of the Top Three Animated Films Ever
The Walt Disney Company literally created the animated movie.
At the time, people called Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs “Walt’s Folly” because it was so unlikely to succeed.

Since then, Disney and Pixar films have become the gold standard in Hollywood.
Now, we have additional proof as the latest Pixar title continues to wreck the box office.

Inside Out 2 has entered the top three list of biggest animated blockbusters ever. Let’s talk about its latest triumph.
What Just Happened?

Inside Out 2 has broken several records recently.
For example, the film passed The Incredibles 2 to become Pixar’s biggest blockbuster ever.

Yes, in the storied history of Pixar, Inside Out 2 has earned the most revenue, which is stunning on its own.
The statement sounds even more remarkable when you consider that the film just finished its first five weeks in theaters.

After barely one month, the sequel has bested everything else the studio has ever done.
Even if we expand the conversation to all Disney animated films, Inside Out 2 stands in rare air.

Inside Out 2 just passed Frozen’s $1.285 billion and is now the third-biggest animated hit ever.
Pixar's INSIDE OUT 2 has now grossed $1.350B ($572.6M domestic, $777.5M int'l) and is the #3 animated film of all time globally–just $12M away from working the turtle on SUPER MARIO BROS ($1.362B).

Only Frozen II, with $1.453 billion, and The Super Mario Bros. Movie, with $1.362 billion, are ahead of it.

After this weekend’s box office, Inside Out 2’s domestic total stands at $572.6 million.
That’s 15th all-time and the second-best performance ever for an animated title.

At the moment, The Incredibles 2 still holds that record with an astounding $608.6 million solely in North America.
As you can tell, Inside Out 2 has performed better internationally. That’s why it’s shot up the global charts so quickly.
Where Inside Out 2 Stands

After this weekend’s box office, the latest Pixar film has grossed $1.35 billion and entered the top 20 all-time.
Currently, Inside Out 2 sits right behind The Super Mario Bros. Movie’s $1.362 billion. It’ll pass that film sometime this week.

When that happens, Disney will claim the top two animated blockbusters ever with this film and Frozen II.
Also, at this point, Inside Out 2 appears all but certain to surpass Frozen II and become the top animated film ever.
That’s remarkable in and of itself, but Inside Out 2 may not be done. Frozen II is currently 13th all-time in total box office.
Inside Out 2 would need $1.52 billion to pass The Avengers and enter the top ten all-time. That seems likely.

Currently, Disney claims six of the ten biggest films ever. That won’t change if Inside Out 2 passes The Avengers.
However, it does speak to the box office dominance of Disney.

In fact, you could argue that three other titles – Spider-Man: No Way Home, Titanic, and Avatar – are at least partially Disney as well.
Disney acquired Fox, which had owned the rights to Titanic and Avatar, and Spider-Man is a Marvel character.

Currently, the only all-time top ten movie with no connection to Disney is Jurassic World.
Now, Inside Out 2 has become the latest mega-blockbuster for your favorite storytelling company.
