Horseback Riding Will Be Unavailable at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campgrounds
Once upon a time, Walt Disney World was known as the Vacation Kingdom. Throughout the resort’s first couple of decades, it was not only the theme parks that were advertised but Disney World’s outdoor activities and recreation.
While much of Disney World has cut back on these recreational activities, Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campgrounds has remained a bastion of old Disney World. There, the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue has been performed for 50 years, watercraft are still available for rent, and the Tri-Circle-D Ranch continues to offer pony rides, carriage rides, and even horseback riding.

If you are someone who enjoys the equestrian offerings at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, then I have some bad news.
Horseback Riding Will Be Unavailable on Weekdays
Beginning July 13, horseback riding will be temporarily unavailable Monday through Friday at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campgrounds due to construction.

According to Disney, rides “may be available” on Saturdays and Sundays during this time.
To check availability and reserve a ride, guests are encouraged to check the My Disney Experience mobile app on Fridays to see if weekend horseback riding is being offered.
At this time, it is unclear if horseback riding will be available every weekend. Disney has also not specified when the construction will wrap up or when the weekday horseback excursions will return.
