Brad Winderbaum Says ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Will Feature a “Whole Game of Politics”
While much has been made about the tumultuous production of the upcoming Disney+ Marvel series Daredevil: Born Again, the show’s plot has remained largely under wraps.
What we do know is that the series will tie directly into the original Netflix Daredevil show and feature the return of both Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk/Kingpin.

The last time we saw Wilson Fisk, it was heavily hinted that the mob boss was considering entering the New York City mayoral race.
Brad Winderbaum Previews ‘Daredevil: Born Again’
In a recent interview on The Official Marvel Podcast, Marvel’s head of streaming, Brad Winderbaum, discussed what Daredevil: Born Again had in store for fans and noted that the show’s characters have evolved.

“Well, Daredevil is incredible. It’s similar in some ways to X-Men ’97 because it’s reviving something that the fans love, but it is taking it in a new direction. These characters have matured. The universe is different than it was,” he explained.

“Things have changed. Society has changed. Matt [Murdock] and Wilson [Fisk] have changed, and their characters are going to collide in ways we’ve never seen before. It’s no longer enough to try to murder each other. There’s a whole game of politics at play.”
‘Born Again’ Could Have Ramifications For the Broader MCU
Winderbaum’s comments are interesting for several reasons. By the sound of things, Kingpin could soon be the Mayor of New York. This would create a massive shift in the power dynamic between Daredevil and Fisk.

Should Fisk rise to power in New York, it could also have larger implications in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). With Spider-Man, the Avengers, and potentially the Fantastic Four all headquartered in New York, Kingpin’s presence could loom large.
While Daredevil: Born Again is set to be released on the Marvel Spotlight banner, which indicates that viewers can enjoy the show without being caught up with the larger MCU, it sounds like the series may have larger ramifications than initially expected.
Daredevil: Born Again will stream on Disney+ next year.
