Temuera Morrison Is Still Pushing For ‘The Book of Boba Fett’ Season 2
Since its launch in 2019, Disney+ has heavily relied on Star Wars to draw viewers to its platform. Even as the Lucasfilm franchise failed to live up to its lofty expectations in theaters, The Mandalorian proved itself to be the hit series that Disney needed to get its streaming business off the ground.
Since Mando and Grogu first debuted along with the rest of Disney+ in 2019, Disney has continued to mine the Star Wars universe for new content. Following two successful seasons of The Mandalorian, Disney+ premiered The Book of Boba Fett, a spin-off series that focused on the legendary bounty hunter played by Temuera Morrison.
While Star Wars fans were initially thrilled to pick up the infamous Boba Fett following his near-death experience in Return of the Jedi, the series was eventually met with mixed reviews.
‘The Book of Boba Fett’ Season 2?
Still, legions of Star Wars fans have been eagerly awaiting news on The Book of Boba Fett Season 2, only to be met by Disney and Lucasfilm’s deafening silence.
As time passes, it looks increasingly unlikely that The Book of Boba Fett will return. Still, series star Temuera Morrison is holding out hope.
Morrison’s Latest Comments
During a recent convention appearance (via ComicBookMovie.com), Morrison was asked about The Book of Boba Fett and working with Ming-Na Wen, who plays Fennec Shand in the series.
“Both her and I wanted to work pretty hard in the hope that they might carry on [and] do a 2 and a 3 and a 4 and a 5 and a 6 and a 7,” he began.
Then, turning his attention to Lucasfilm, Morrison admitted, “I’ve been trying to get them in that direction too,” before acknowledging that “it needs more nudging.”
We Should See Boba Fett Again
While it doesn’t sound like The Book of Boba Fett Season 2 is in the cards, that does not mean we have seen the last of Morrison’s iconic bounty hunter.
With Boba Fett now firmly established as a hero of the New Republic, we should see the character reappear in the upcoming The Mandalorian & Grogu or perhaps Dave Filoni’s New Republic movie. There is also the possibility that he could appear in Ahsoka.
No matter what happens, hopefully, we haven’t seen Morrison’s final Star Wars appearance.
