Kevin Feige Says ‘Wonder Man’ Will Be “Extremely Different”
While much attention is being paid to the upcoming Marvel projects, including Agatha All Along, Deadpool & Wolverine, and next year’s The Fantastic Four, one series seems to be flying under the radar- Wonder Man.
Originally announced in 2022, the series will star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams, a stuntperson who gains superpowers and becomes Wonder Man.
In addition to Abdul-Mateen II, the series will star Demetrius Grosse as Grim Reaper, Ed Nelson as Neal Saroyan, and Ben Kingsley reprising his role as Trevor Slattery.
Kevin Feige Discusses the Upcoming Series
While filming concluded on Wonder Man in April, Marvel has not announced when the show will hit Disney+. The studio has revealed, however, that the series will be released under the Marvel Spotlight banner. While fans may have to wait a while to see the new series, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige says he is excited about the series.
“We have a show coming up that we’ve talked very little about called Wonder Man, that I won’t talk much about today either except to say it’s extremely different than anything we’ve done before,” Feige explained on the Official Marvel Podcast. “It’s very exciting to still be able to do new things.”
Feige Says Marvel Will Keep Experimenting
Although Marvel is largely keeping the plot of Wonder Man under wraps, at least for now, Feige noted that the series was an example of Marvel’s commitment to trying new things.
“Sometimes they’ll hit, sometimes they won’t, but if you stop trying, that is when you atrophy, and the whole thing falls in on itself,” he explained.
Wonder Man will hit Disney+ in 2025.
