Joseph Quinn Says His ‘Quiet Place’ Co-Star Lupita Nyong’o Has Been “Very Helpful” As He Prepares to Join the MCU

With Joseph Quinn set to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in next year’s The Fantastic Four, the actor knows that the pressure is on.

When the film hits theaters, Quinn will suit up alongside Pedro Pascal (Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Thing) as perhaps Marvel’s most iconic superhero team.

Between the star-studded cast, a strong script, and WandaVision’s Matt Shakman behind the camera, Quinn is confident that The Fantastic Four will deliver.

“There are aspects of it that are very different to other Marvel films. That felt very compelling to me. And again, going back to who’s involved, Matt, of course, the director, I think is brilliant, and the cast, and I’ve read it and the script is brilliant. It’s really brilliant. I’m delighted to have this opportunity,” he explained.

“Superhero movies are movies about people. And if we’re invested in the people and the characters and the peril and the spectacle, then that’s why people go to the theaters to watch films. We’re not just in a penny; we’re in for a pound with this one. We’re going to go for it.”

Advice From Lupita Nyong’o

Lucikly, as Quinn prepares to make the jump into the MCU, he has his A Quiet Place: Day One co-star Lupita Nyong’o to lean on.

Nyong’o, of course, has portrayed Nakia in the MCU, appearing in both Black Panther films.

So, what advice did N’yong’o give Quinn?

“She said that I’m going to have a blast and to enjoy it. She was very helpful when I was considering all of that stuff,” he says. “She’s obviously part of that world and spoke about her experience with a lot of fondness, so it was encouraging.”

The Proof Will be in the Pudding

So far, Quinn has seemingly embraced the MCU whole heartedly. Hopefully, his experience with The Fantastic Four is as positive as Nyong’o’s Black Panther experience.
