Peter Pan’s Flight Is Closing For Refurbishment Next Month in Magic Kingdom
With work now complete on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and the attraction getting ready to open tomorrow at Magic Kingdom, it looks like Disney is turning its attention to some of the park’s other E-Ticket attractions.
Earlier this month, we brought you the news that Big Thunder Mountain Railroad would be undergoing an extensive refurbishment at some point in the future. Now, it looks like Imagineers have their sights set on a classic Fantasyland attraction.
Peter Pan’s Flight to Close For Refurbishment
According to the attraction’s website, Peter Pan’s Flight will close for refurbishment on July 8th. At this time, the attraction is set to remain closed until August 21st.
While Disney attractions go down for refurbishment frequently, this one looks to be more extensive.
Disney previously filed a permit for construction on Peter Pan’s Flight in May, meaning the upcoming refurbishment should come as no surprise.
What Will Change During the Refurbishment?
At this time, Disney has not announced what will transpire during the refurb. The permit they filed, however, calls for the installation of “set elements,” meaning that changes to the attraction itself could be on the way.
The most likely candidate for change would be the attraction’s “Indian Village” scene. Based on recent changes to the Jungle Cruise, Splash Mountain, and the Country Bear Jamboree, cultural sensitivity is clearly a priority for Disney.
