Meet Lari the Armadillo From Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom
It’s been a long haul, but we are officially ONE DAY away from the grand opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom!

The new, reimagined attraction features an enchanting storyline that takes place after the events of Disney’s 2009 animated film The Princess and the Frog.
Tomorrow, Magic Kingdom guests will journey through the Louisiana Bayou, where they’ll reunite with Tiana, Naveen, Louis, and Mama Odie. Even better? We’ll meet a variety of adorable bayou critters!

In the bayou, we’ll encounter everything from adorable bobcats to musical frogs, and even…an ARMADILLO?
Yup, that’s right! It turns out that armadillos are in fact native to the Louisiana Bayou, and Disney Imagineers just couldn’t wait to introduce us to this sweet-natured creature!

Meet Lari the Armadillo!
To prepare for the transformation of Splash Mountain into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Disney Imagineers embarked on several research trips to the Louisiana Bayou.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
Here, they encountered a number of species indigenous to the area… including an ARMADILLO!
Thus, Lari the Armadillo was born!

Lari is one of 19 critters featured in Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (they all have names and distinct personalities!), and according to Disney Imagineers, this little guy is FULL of mischief.
Apparently, Lari is a “junk man” and a jack-of-all-trades who lives amongst his treasures on the outskirts of New Orleans. He also has a penchant for “borrowing” things that aren’t his — but rest assured, those stolen goods always make it into the right hands!

Lari, as it happens, is an unpredictable fellow with a heart of gold. Just don’t expect to hear the REAL story of how he got that eye patch.
