Pricing of Disney World’s New Lightning Lane Passes Will Be Variable
In case you haven’t heard, Disney World is doing away with the Genie+ system and replacing it with new Lightning Lane Multi and Single Passes.
In essence, the new Lightning Lane system will work a lot like the old Genie+ program did. For a price, guests will be able to purchase the Lightning Lane Multi Pass, which will allow them to make 3 Lightning Lane Selections in one park.
Single Passes will be available a la carte and apply to some of the most in-demand rides in Disney World.
While by and large, Disney is just changing the name of their skip-the-line option, there are some functional differences. The big change is that guests will be able to make their Lightning Lane selections up to seven days before their Walt Disney World vacation begins. Additionally, after using a Lightning Lane, they will be able to make another selection.
The New Service Will Utilize Dynamic Pricing
What is not changing, however, is that the service will cost money.
According to Disney, like Genie+, pricing for Lightning Lane Multi Passes will vary by the date and theme park chosen. Lightning Lane Single Pass pricing will also vary by date and attraction.
Pricing Will Be Viewable Beginning July 24
While we do not have a feel for how the price of the new service will compare to Genie+, Disney says that guests will be able to view Lightning Lane Multi Pass pricing in the My Disney Experience app beginning July 24, 2024, which is when the new service launches.
