BREAKING: Disney Genie+ Will Be CHANGED and Rebranded
We have BIG news for Disney Genie+.
After the COVID-19 pandemic, Disney discontinued the previously complimentary FastPass+ program, replacing it with Genie+ and Lightning Lanes. Genie+ has historically cost between $15 to $39 per person, per day, and required daily scheduling. Now, Disney just shared a HUGE change, and here’s what you need to know.
Genie+ to be Rebranded
Beginning July 24, 2024, Genie+ is being transitioned into a new service with two different option tiers — Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass.
In many ways, this new service will act as a paid version of the FastPass+ program, with a little bit of Genie+ features mixed in.
If you purchase the Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you’ll be able to make up to 3 Lightning Lane selections in ONE park, with the option to choose your Lightning Lanes before your visit.
Once you use one of your Lightning Lanes, you can use the My Disney Experience app to make another selection.
The Lightning Lane Single Pass will essentially operate the same way as the current a la carte Individual Lightning Lanes do, and you will be able to purchase up to 2 selections and book ahead of time.
Guests will have the option to book either the Lightning Lane Multi Pass, Single Pass, or both.
Guests staying at a Disney World hotel will be able to purchase Lightning Lane passes (Multi Pass and/or Single Pass) up to 7 days in advance beginning at 7AM, for an entire stay or up to 14 days in total.
If you’re not staying in a Disney World hotel, you can begin purchasing up to 3 days in advance beginning at 7AM.

Disneyland Resort will also adopt this new service beginning July 24, although the way guests purchase, select, and redeem Lightning Lanes will remain the same.
Disney also shared a video explaining more about this new service!
The free Disney Genie service in the My Disney Experience app will also remain available.
