Walt Disney World Wait Times for Third Week of June 2024
In 2022 and 2023, the third week of June proved transformational at Walt Disney World.
With school finished across North America, tourists flocked to the parks to enjoy the Most Magical Place on Earth.

Crowds
The so-called Revenge Travel phenomenon played a part in this behavior, as several tourist destinations tracked increased attendance.
Thus far in 2024, the end of Revenge Travel has at least somewhat reduced such tourist activity.

Crowds
We know this trend will change in early July, but it could happen sooner. Lately, the crowds arrive a couple of weeks earlier.
Did this trend continue? Here are Walt Disney World’s wait times for the third week of June 2024.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
We should know quickly whether the crowds increased dramatically.
Last week, the unlikely happened, as Avatar Flight of Passage fell significantly from the previous week.

Avatar — Flight of Passage
The average wait time we tracked was 71 minutes. That’s closer to a February number than a June one.
So, how was the ride this past week? Well, guests stood in line for an average of…100 minutes.

Expedition Everest
That’s a 29-minute increase and an early warning signal that summer has arrived at Disney World.
Here are Animal Kingdom’s other average wait times:
- Na’vi River Journey – 64 minutes, no change
- Kali River Rapids – 52 minutes, up 5
- Expedition Everest – 49 minutes, up 8
- Adventurers Outpost – 41 minutes, up 4
- Kilimanjaro Safaris – 41 minutes, up 10
- DINOSAUR – 34 minutes, up 4
- It’s Tough to Be a Bug! – 15 minutes, up 5
- TriceraTop Spin – 12 minutes, up 2

Kilimanjaro Safaris
Overall, the average Animal Kingdom attraction required an average of 45 minutes, which is seven minutes or 18 percent more than last week.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Magic Kingdom is undeniably the busiest theme park at Disney World.
However, Hollywood Studios has become the most crowded one since it offers fewer attractions, most of which are in high demand.

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
The point is that Hollywood Studios typically bears the brunt when crowds increase.
Since consumers have fewer options here, all of which are excellent, they willingly wait however long it takes.

Star Tours
Here are the average wait times at Hollywood Studios last week:
- Slinky Dog Dash – 98 minutes, up 20
- Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance – 87 minutes, up 10
- Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run – 74 minutes, up 10
- Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway – 62 minutes, up 8
- Twilight Zone Tower of Terror – 61 minutes, up 10
- Toy Story Mania! – 57 minutes, up 5
- Alien Swirling Saucers – 44 minutes, up 6
- Red Carpet Dreams – 36 minutes, up 1
- Star Tours – The Adventures Continue – 24 minutes, up 6
- Celebrity Spotlight – 20 minutes, up 3
- Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy – 15 minutes, no change
- Muppet*Vision 3D – 10 minutes, no change

Muppet*Vision 3D
Overall, Hollywood Studios attractions increased to an average wait time of 44 minutes, which is six minutes or 16 percent more than last time.
Notably, five attractions required a wait of 60+ minutes, with Toy Story Mania! just missing.

Toy Story Mania
We hadn’t tracked that behavior in a while, but we’re close to the level when I consider Hollywood Studios packed.
My criteria for this park is that seven attractions average waits of 60+ minutes, which isn’t possible right now.

Slinky Dog Dash
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith won’t reopen for another four weeks. Until then, this is as close as it can get.
Toy Story Mania! rarely averages a wait this long, highlighting that crowds have increased significantly.
EPCOT
This park has already experienced joy and sadness in June.
The joy stems from the opening of the well-received CommuniCore Hall & Plaza, a new gathering spot.

CommuniCore Hall
Alas, the sadness is palpable as well because Test Track has closed forever.
I technically missed one final day of Test Track data last week.

Test Track closed
So, I’ll go ahead and tell you that the attraction averaged a wait of 64 minutes on its final day in operation as Test Track 2.0.
That’s really just an average week for this attraction rather than something that has spiked.

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure
For whatever reason, this ride never experienced the last-minute rush that Splash Mountain and even Country Bear Jamboree did.
Here are EPCOT’s other wait times last week:
- Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure – 70 minutes, up 10
- Frozen Ever After – 62 minutes, up 4
- Soarin’ Around the World – 55 minutes, up 14
- Mission: SPACE – 50 minutes, no change
- Royal Sommerhus – 36 minutes, up 2
- Disney Pals at Mickey & Friends – 35 minutes, up 4
- Spaceship Earth – 24 minutes, up 6
- Journey into Imagination with Figment – 21 minutes, up 8
- The Seas with Nemo & Friends – 20 minutes, up 5
- Turtle Talk with Crush – 20 minutes, up 1
- Living with the Land – 19 minutes, up 5
- Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros – 15 minutes, up 3

Long Lines at Spaceship Earth in EPCOT
Overall, guests stood in line for an average of 36 minutes per EPCOT attraction, which is three minutes or nine percent more than last time.
I’m not factoring Test Track into those calculations, but it’s interesting that this park hasn’t surged like the other two.

Long Lines at The Seas with Nemo & Friends
The new entertainment options appear to be managing the crowds more efficiently, which is always the goal with park changes.
Magic Kingdom
I think we can already tell what’s happened, but here are Magic Kingdom’s average wait times for the third week of June.
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train – 73 minutes, up 9
- Space Mountain – 58 minutes, up 10
- Peter Pan’s Flight – 57 minutes, up 1
- Jungle Cruise – 55 minutes, up 6
- Haunted Mansion – 48 minutes, up 3
- Princess Fairytale Hall – 45 minutes, no change
- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad – 42 minutes, up 3
- Ariel’s Grotto – 40 minutes, up 4
- Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin – 39 minutes, up 5
- The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh – 39 minutes, up 3
- The Pirates of the Caribbean – 37 minutes, up 8
- Town Square Theater – 37 minutes, up 5
- Pete’s Silly Sideshow – 35 minutes, up 4
- Astro Orbiter – 34 minutes, up 3
- Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid – 32 minutes, up 9
- Enchanted Tales with Belle – 30 minutes, up 3
- It’s a Small World – 30 minutes, up 3
- The Barnstormer – 28 minutes, up 9
- Dumbo the Flying Elephant – 27 minutes, up 10
- Tomorrowland Speedway – 24 minutes, up 8
- The Magic Carpets of Aladdin – 22 minutes, up 5
- Mickey’s PhilharMagic – 20 minutes, up 2
- Mad Tea Party – 20 minutes, up 7
- Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor – 19 minutes, up 2
- Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover – 19 minutes, up 5
- Walt Disney World Railroad – 19 minutes, up 5
- Prince Charming Regal Carrousel – 15 minutes, up 6
- Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress – 5 minutes, no change
Final Thoughts
Overall, Magic Kingdom attractions averaged a wait of 34 minutes, which is five minutes or 17 percent more than last time.
The word for the week is “up” because virtually every attraction increased its wait time.

Peter Pan’s Flight
Only one ride, Na’vi River Journey, and one experience, Princess Fairytale Hall stayed the same.
I’m ignoring shows like Muppet*Vision 3D and Carousel of Progress that rarely move.

Still, the point is clear. After a surprisingly slow first half of June, the crowds finally picked up at Walt Disney World.
In a couple of weeks, they’ll presumably go into hyperdrive, although I never take anything for granted.

Remember last year’s July 4th oddity? That was weather and calendar configuration-related.
So, I doubt we witness anything like this phenomenon this July 4th, though.
