‘Inside Out 2’ Looks Like It’s Heading For a Record-Breaking Second Weekend

While it is no secret that Inside Out has dominated the international box office as it continues to open in more and more countries, we now have a projection for the film’s second domestic weekend, and things look GREAT.

According to a Deadline report, the film is expected to gross somewhere between $85 and $95 million, after the film raked in around $30 on Friday alone.

Today’s numbers will not only propel the film over the $500 million mark, but it will also make Inside Out 2 the highest-grossing film of 2024.

A Potentially Historic Weekend

If Inside Out 2 can stick the landing this weekend, the film will have the best second weekend for any Disney animated relase ever. To earn that title the film will have to best Frozen 2’s $85.9 million second weekend.

Additionally, if the film can beat Universal’s Super Mario Bros Movie’s $92.3 million, it will be the best second weekend for an animated film ever.

Disney Saves the Movie Theater Business

After much ink was spilled about the death of the movie theater this spring, it looks like Disney is here to save the day. Not only is Inside Out 2 putting up historic numbers, but in one month Deadpool & Wolverine will join the party. That film is trending for an historic $200 million opening weekend.

No matter where the dust settles, Inside Out 2 is a bonafide hit for Pixar.  Hopefully, the film will keep its momentum going, and Pixar will have a shot at another $1 billion movie.
