Shawn Levy Discusses a Potential ‘Deadpool 4’
Despite the fact that we are still just over a month away from the release of Deadpool & Wolverine, fans are already thinking about what the future of the franchise holds.
With the third Deadpool film looking like it will easily be the biggest movie of 2025, it seems like Marvel will want to keep the character around.

How a possible Deadpool 4 would play out, however, remains unclear. Now working within the parameters of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Ryan Reynolds and his team do not have the same kind of creative freedom that they enjoyed when they were a stand-alone franchise.
Shawn Levy Weighs In
In a recent interview with Deadline, Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy was asked about a potential Deadpool 4.

“Usually, I have to lie. I’m waiting for the questions when I have to lie and pretend I don’t know the answer, but this one I can sincerely say I don’t know. But I can, in the same breath, say, ‘Man, this thing has been the hardest, most all-consuming thing I’ve ever done. But it’s also been the most creatively gratifying.’ Because with Deadpool, there’s no rules. It is, in its very DNA, built on tonal audacity. So, for a filmmaker, what a delight,” he said.

“And to do it with my best friend Ryan, my other buddy Hugh, the three of us who have known each other now for a very long time, it was just a blast. Because if you work with friends, you don’t mind making an ass of yourself. And if you’re working on something that’s comedic, you better be willing to fall on your face.”
Will We Get a ‘Deadpool 4’
With Deadpool & Wolverine still a month away from hitting theaters, it is likely too early to prognosticate about the franchise’s future. Still, Deadpool is very clearly among Marvel’s most popular characters.
If Deadpool & Wolverine is the kind of box office behemoth that early tracking predicts, it is hard to see Marvel passing up on another film in the franchise.
