An ‘Inside Out’ Streaming Series Is Coming to Disney+ Next Spring!
While it is no secret that audiences are set to return to Headquarters with Joy, Sadness, Anger, and the rest of Riley’s Emotions on Friday when Inside Out 2 hits theaters, it turns out that the sequel is not the only Inside Out content Pixar has been working on.

Earlier reports suggested that while Pixar would no longer release films directly to streaming, they were leaving the door open for new original series. One such project is a long-rumored Inside Out show.
Pete Docter Confirms The New Series
In a recent interview with EW, Pixar CCO Pete Docter was asked about potential sequels that Pixar could put out. During the conversation, the topic of the Inside Out series came up.

According to the Pixar head, the new series will take inspiration from a scene in the original Inside Out, where Riley’s Emotions visit Dream Productions.
“Remember we go to Dream Production to see how Riley’s dreams are made? It semi-explains why they’re so weird,” he explained. “We’ve continued the exploration of the power of dreams and how they affect us in our waking life, as well. So it’s pretty cool.”
Docter further explained that work on the series has been completed, and the show should debut on Disney+ next spring.
Pixar Could Be a Major Player in Streaming
If Pixar’s long-awaited original streaming series, Win or Lose, is also released next year, Disney+ could be debuting two new Pixar series.

As for Pixar’s overall strategy with streaming, it appears as if the studio is willing to make streaming shows for Disney+ while only releasing movies theatrically. That plan would mesh with what Pixar president Jim Morris said in a recent Bloomberg report.
“I hope that we will not release another feature film on Disney+,” Morris explained.

“If we do more stuff for Disney+, it should be a series, and then that makes a clean demarcation between what we do for theaters and what we do for streaming.”
More Inside Out Content Is on the Way
With Inside Out 2 director Kelsey Mann already considering ideas for a third film and the new series arriving on Disney+ next year, Inside Out fans should have no dearth of content for the foreseeable future.
