Get Ready for New Summer Updates Coming to Walt Disney World!
Earlier today, during a special “Dig A Little Deeper” media event, Disney shared exciting updates for Walt Disney World!
This summer, guests can expect the Most Magical Place on Earth to bring their favorite characters and stories to life in a fun new ways. Let’s check out everything that was announced earlier today!
Country Bear Musical Jamboree Debuts July 17
The new Country Bear Musical Jamboree arrives in Frontierland on July 17.
At today’s special media event, Wendell and Big Al (from the Country Bears’ Family Band) joined Disney Imagineers to debut their new costumes, and they look great.
All of the bears will have new country-inspired looks. If you conisder yourself a super fan, you may even spot a few Easter Eggs paying homage to iconic Disney films in the stage wear.
During the event, Brett Swain, senior creative director of music, shared how iconic Disney songs are rearranged to reflect the popular classic musical revues in Nashville.
Brett, CMA musician of the year Mac McAnally, country star Emily Ann Roberts, and artist Allison Russell even shared one of the new songs, “Try Everything” from “Zootopia.”
New Details for The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure
New behind-the-scenes photos and concept art were also unveiled for “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure.”
The new theatrical production is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and is inspired by Disney’s “The Little Mermaid.”
This brand new show is told from Ariel’s perspective and builds on the original, but mixes it with a new cast of puppets, a colorful set, and two additional music numbers.
And don’t forget the amazing music! “Daughters of Triton” and the iconic “Kiss the Girl” are back in the production.
“The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” will debut in fall 2024.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Opens This Summer
Today’s media event also featured a behind-the-scenes look at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Guests even heard a surprise performance of one of “Special Spice” sung by the voice of Princess Tiana and Tony Award-winning actress, Anika Noni Rose.
Imagineers Carmen Smith, senior vice president of creative development, Ted Robledo, executive director, and Charita Carter, executive creative producer, also shared fascinating stories behind the attraction — highlighting the importance of Tiana’s story, and the inspiration, technology, and more that are featured.
