PHOTOS: George W. Bush’s ‘Portraits of Courage’ Exhibit Is Now Open at EPCOT
The American Adventure pavilion at EPCOT is now proudly presenting Portraits of Courage: A Commander in Chief’s Tribute to America’s Warriors, a special exhibit by former President George W. Bush.
The last time we checked in, the American Adventure pavilion had closed the National Heritage Gallery in preparation for the new exhibit’s arrival.
“Celebrating those who give so much to our country has been part of the fabric of The Walt Disney Company throughout our 100-year history,” said Josh D’Amaro, Chairman, Disney Experiences. “We’re grateful to the Bush Institute for allowing us to feature this special collection and share it with our guests.”
Well, I am happy to report that President George W. Bush’s paintings have officially arrived at Disney World and are on display in EPCOT’s American Adventure Pavilion!
An American Tribute
Located in the American Adventure’s National Heritage galley, Portraits of Courage: A Commander’s Tribute to America’s Warriors features over 60 paintings from President Bush.
The new exhibit has replaced the Creating Tradition: Innovation and Change in American Indian Art exhibit, which was located in the gallery since July 2018.
The art includes images of “service members and veterans who have served our nation with honor since 9/11, and whom the President has come to know personally since leaving office.”
George W. Bush’s paintings have previously been on display at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, but this is his debut at EPCOT.
The moving collection will be on display for a year inside the National Heritage Gallery.
Each portrait is accompanied by a short description listing the veteran’s name, years of service, and rank.
In addition to the art, each piece includes a short story written by Bush about the veteran shown in the artwork.
The exhibit will also highlight resources to support those serving in the military since Sept. 11, 2001.
Be sure to stop by EPCOT’s American Adventure Pavilion to experience the new exhibit.
