National Geographic Expeditions Announces 3 Amazing 2025 Trips
If you like to live life on the “wild” side, National Geographic has an announcement for you.
Beginning in 2025, three new Signature Land National Geographic Expeditions will take visitors to Australia, Portugal and the Azores, and Sri Lanka, where you can learn from researchers actively working in the field, explore wildlife sanctuaries, and learn more about conservation. Here is what National Geographic Expeditions has been cooking up!
Australia: Reefs, Rainforests and Wild Tasmania
The first trip will take travelers to a land down under, where they will learn about the nature, wildlife, and aboriginal cultures of Australia on an 11-day trip.
The adventure kicks off at the Great Barrier Reef and includes a trek with aboriginal guides at the Daintree Rainforest, wildlife viewing at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, and a trip to Tasmani’s east coast.
Along the way, travelers will see the endangered Bucheno penguins, sample wines at local wineries, and embark on a catamaran sailing trip to spot marine mammals at Wineglass Bay.
The trip even ends with a private tour of the Sydney Opera House! To learn more, click here.

In Portugal, travelers will stop at five UNESCO World Heritage sites, including a stop at the famed Lello Bookstore in Porto.
Other amazing opportunities include a trip to the Duro Valley, where you can bike, kayak, or walk along the Duro River. During a trip to Lisbon, travelers will learn from local guides who will share their knowledge about architecture, monuments, and history at Sao Roque Church, the Carmo Convent, and Jerominos Monastery.
Finally, in The Azores, guests will take in breathtaking views while interacting with marine biologists who will share insight into research and conservation in the region. They will also tour the Parque Terra Nostra and explore the Sete Cidades.
