Daisy Ridley Will Be More Involved With Rey’s Story This Time Around
Daisy Ridley has made no secret that starring in the Star Wars sequels was a mixed blessing.
On one hand, it made Ridley an international star and hero to millions of fans around the world.

On the other hand, however, carrying the Star Wars franchise on your shoulders comes with the kind of pressure that few can understand.
“This Is a Religion For People”
Talking to Inverse earlier this year, Ridley recalled the advice that director J.J. Abrams gave her.
“Understand the scale. This is not a role in a movie,” he warned. “This is a religion for people. It changes things on a level that is inconceivable.”

“When all of the craziness was going on, I was like, ‘I’m good. I’m good. I’m coping fine. Everything’s fine.’ And I was fine, for the most part. But I think what I was really grappling with was that it was my normal, but it was not normal to other people,” Ridley told the outlet.
The Pressure Took a Toll
Eventually, Ridley had to admit that the pressure took a toll on her and caused her to start isolating from even her friends and family.
“For friends and family, or any people who see something in a slightly different way than you do, there’s this projection of you, and you in that world, and how it feels to do this and that,” she explained. “And you’re like, ‘Well, actually, I’m just a human being, separate from that.’ It’s quite this wrestle, of the reality and the fantasy that’s often projected onto you.”
Ridley Will be Involved From the Star This Time
As Ridley prepares to re-enter a galaxy far, far away, she knows what she is getting into this time. Additionally, the actress says she has more say in her character’s story this time around.

“When I spoke to Kathy [producer Kathleen Kennedy], I asked to be, again, I was always very involved, I was always listened to, I always felt like it was very collaborative, but certainly being on from early on, yes, and it’s very exciting and waiting for things to happen officially,” she told Fox New Digital.
