Daisy Ridley Wants John Boyega To Return To ‘Star Wars’
With Daisy Ridley set to reprise her role of Rey Skywalker for Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy’s Star Wars film, the story of the sequel trilogy will continue.
The upcoming film, which is set to begin production next year, will find Rey fulfilling her promise to Luke Skywalker and rebuilding the Jedi Order.

Set 15 years after the events of The Rise of Skywalker, Ridley has previously revealed that the film will see Rey surrounded by a new cast of characters. This decision will potentially give the film some distance from the divisive sequel trilogy.
Will Finn Return?
If one character from the sequel trilogy were to join Rey in the next Star Wars installment, John Boyega’s Finn would make the most sense.
Not only have Finn and Rey had a special bond since the events of The Force Awakens, but many fans felt Boyega’s character was unfairly sidelined as the sequel trilogy progressed. Perhaps, then, Obaid-Chinoy could give the character the redemption that fans have been calling for?
Daisy Ridley Weighs In
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly to promote her current film, The Young Woman and the Sea, Ridley was asked about Boyega’s return and whether or not she would like to see Finn and Rey reunited.
“Absolutely, of course,” Ridley said. “It feels like we should, yeah.”
While Boyega has been open about the fact that he felt that Finn was underutilized as the Star Wars sequel trilogy progressed, more recently, he has sounded more positive about the franchise.
“For me Star Wars has made the man, in a sense…The experiences, the fun times, good times, ugly times, bad times, it makes you who you are as you navigate through the industry, and that has definitely been interesting,” he said last year.
“I feel like the arc that JJ tried to tie up. That’s where I feel comfortable with the release of him. And since then I’ve been able to enjoy, as a fan, ‘The Mandalorian’ and ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi.’ I’m enjoying the balance of all things.”
Perhaps then we will see Finn and Rey reunite in a galaxy far, far away after all.
